Nappanee Center Quilt Garden
The award-winning Quilt Gardens along the Heritage Trail combine quilting, gardening, and art in a unique event. This spectacular display features over 1 million vibrant blooms, 17 gigantic gardens, and 21 hand-painted, super-sized murals.
The concept of quilt gardens originated in 2007 with the creation of the first-ever quilt garden. Locally, the Nappanee Chamber of Commerce (Nappanee Center) introduced its inaugural garden in 2011, later enhancing the experience with an observation podium in 2013, allowing visitors to take in the full beauty of the design from a higher vantage point.
Every quilt garden and quilt mural has its own intricate pattern, with many featuring original designs and each having its own unique story. The Quilt Gardens can be found in the welcoming communities of Bristol, Elkhart, Goshen, Middlebury, Nappanee, Shipshewana, and Wakarusa, each with its own special character and fun finds to explore.
The Quilt Gardens are viewable for free from May 30 to September 15. Come and discover the beauty and charm of the Quilt Gardens, a truly unique experience that can't be found anywhere else in the world!
